Velocimap ("the app") is a phone app from EERIE that plans bike, car and walking routes. Routes are worked out on your phone, from map files you download into the app.
Nothing. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it never sends us anything about you.
If you allow it, the app uses your location to show where you are, to plan routes from there and to guide you along a route. Your location is used on your phone only and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Your settings, your Home, Work and saved places, the roads you choose to avoid, your trip history and the maps you download are kept on your phone, in the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes them.
Place search: when you type in the search box, your search text, and your approximate position so nearby places come first, is sent to Apple's map search, which is part of iOS, under Apple's privacy policy. The same search text, and your position rounded to about a kilometre, is also sent to Photon (photon.komoot.io), a place search built on OpenStreetMap data and run by komoot, under its own privacy policy.
Explore: when you open a kind of place nearby (for example pharmacies), that kind and your position are sent to Apple's map search, and the same kind with your position rounded to about a kilometre is sent to Overpass, a service built on OpenStreetMap data (overpass-api.de, or maps.mail.ru when that one is busy), under their own privacy policies.
Map background: the map images you see are loaded from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org). Like any website, it receives the address of your internet connection and which part of the map is shown, under its own privacy policy.
Map downloads: the route maps are downloaded from GitHub (github.com), where they are published. GitHub receives the address of your internet connection when a map is downloaded, under its own privacy policy.
Spoken directions are made by your phone's own voice.
The Report Issue, Discussions and Feature Request links in Settings open pages in your browser. Anything you choose to send there is handled under that page's own privacy policy.
Velocimap is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If the app is obtained through the Apple App Store, Google Play or another platform, the respective platform may process data related to download, purchase and licensing under their own policies. This policy describes only processing performed by the Velocimap app itself.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
