Bear in Mind ("the app") is an app from EERIE for keeping a list of the things you are afraid of forgetting. It comes as a desktop app and as a browser extension. This policy covers both. Everything you write is kept on your own computer, in whichever of the two you are using.
Nothing. Bear in Mind has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry and no tracking. We hold no data about you at all.
The things you add, their descriptions, whether each one is ticked off, and your settings are saved on your own computer. In the desktop app they are two plain files in the app's own storage folder. In the browser extension they are kept in the browser's own storage for that extension, which stays on your machine and is not shared with any web page you visit. Nothing is uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to reach it.
The two are separate stores. A list kept in the desktop app does not appear in the extension, and the other way round. Moving one to the other is done by exporting from one and importing into the other.
Export writes a copy of your list to a file: the desktop app asks you where to put it, and the extension saves it to your downloads. Import reads a file you pick and adds what is in it to your list. Both files stay on your computer and under your control. Neither the app nor the extension ever uploads them.
Under the app's name the desktop app shows how much processor time and memory it is using, and how much space its own files take up. The browser extension shows only how much room its stored list takes up, because a browser gives an extension no way to measure processor or memory use. These figures are measured on your computer, shown on screen, and never sent anywhere. They can be switched off in the settings.
Both the app and the extension work fully offline and never contact anything on their own. The extension reads no web page, asks for no access to any site, and runs nothing that is not inside its own package. The only time a connection is opened is when you click one of the links at the bottom of the window, which opens that page in a browser tab under that site's own privacy policy.
The app collects no analytics, no telemetry, no usage data and no device information. It contains no third-party trackers, advertising components or analytics libraries. We do not sell or share your data with anyone, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
Bear in Mind shares no data with third parties, because it collects none.
Bear in Mind does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If the app is obtained through the Microsoft Store, the Chrome Web Store or another platform, that platform may process data related to download, install and licensing under its own policies. This policy describes only what Bear in Mind itself does.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
