Audio EQ Overlay ("the app") is a desktop app from EERIE that adds a parametric equaliser to everything you hear on your computer. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of ours. Everything it does happens on your own device.
Nothing. Audio EQ Overlay has no user accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. We never see your settings, your audio, or anything else about your computer.
The app measures the sound already playing on your computer so it can draw the live picture of it on screen. Those measurements exist only for the moment they are drawn. Audio is never recorded, never saved to a file, and never sent anywhere. The app does not use your microphone.
Your equaliser curve, saved presets, theme, opacity and window position are saved on your own computer, in the app's own storage and in a small settings folder shared with the sound engine. They never leave your device.
To shape what you hear, the app installs its own sound engine into the Windows audio pipeline and points your current playback device at it. This requires your permission through the standard Windows prompt. Whatever those settings were before are remembered so they can be put back. Nothing about your device or your audio is reported to us or to anyone else.
Debug is switched off by default. When you switch it on, the app writes plain-text log files to a folder on your computer, containing things like your playback device's name and what the setup step did. They stay on your device, are never uploaded, and you can delete them at any time from the app.
Audio EQ Overlay works fully offline. The only time it opens a connection is when you click a link inside the app, such as "Support This Project", "Report Issue", "Discussions" or "Feature Request", which opens that web page in your default browser. Those are third-party websites that operate under their own privacy policies.
Audio EQ Overlay contains no third-party trackers, advertising SDKs, or analytics libraries. It does not share data with third parties, because it collects none.
If the app is obtained through the Microsoft Store or another platform, that platform may process data related to download, purchase, and licensing under its own policy. This policy describes only what the Audio EQ Overlay app itself does.
Audio EQ Overlay does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
